Exclusive! Chemistry Mashi: Ritwika Pal replaces Swastika Dutta in Saurav Chakrabarti’s series

Debashree Roy is all set to make her OTT debut with Saurav Chakrabarti’s Chemistry Mashi on Hoichoi. Initially, actress Swastika Dutta was scheduled to work in the series which delves into the life of a vlogger – played by Debashree – who teaches chemistry with the tempting videos of cooking. Swastika was supposed to play the character of the narrator in the show. In a recent event, Hoichoi announced a series of shows for next year and Chemistry Mashi was one of those shows.

However, it has also been reported that Swastika Dutta had to give Chemistry Mashi a miss because of date issues. According to sources, Debashree, who is also an animal rights activist, had to attend a court hearing regarding a case pertaining to animal rights. As a result, the shooting got postponed. The team and Swastika could not match a new date for the shoot and she had to drop off. 

After her exit, Ritwika Pal got her job. Confirming the news Ritwika said, “Yes, I started shooting three days ago.” Talking about the replacement, Saurav said, “It was sad that we could not match the date with Swastika. We had to carry forward the shooting. Now we are lucky to have Ritwika on board.”

The shooting started a couple of days ago and will continue till after Puja with a break during the festival dates. Meanwhile, Swastika is currently busy with her shootings. She completed the shooting of Pratim D Gupta’s Chalchitra in which she pairs up with Shantanu Maheshwari. Besides, she will also be seen in Hoichoi’s two series – Andarmahal with Ishaa Saha and Saurav Das, and the second season of Gobhir Joler Machh.
