Durga Puja is just around the corner. Following the tradition of Pujor Gaan, Anupam Roy has teamed up with Amyt Datta, Ratul Shankar, and others to present a romantic single, Ga Chhunye Bolchhi. The video features Rwitobroto Mukherjee and Angana Roy. The song was dropped on YouTube three days ago and has a million hits already. The teenage love story that is depicted along with the song has won hearts.
Talking about the song, Anupam said, “I wanted to bring the flavour of a sweet love story this Puja. I am glad that people are liking it. Also, I tried to use Latin music in a Bengali song.” According to sources, the song was penned by Anupam many years back. The song was then supposed to be used in one of Srijit Mukherji's films. But it did not materialise, and hence Anupam released this song during the Durga Puja celebration. The song was released by the SaReGaMa Youtube channel.
Along with Anupam, the video also features Amyt Datta on guitar, Mainak Nag Chowdhury, aka Bumpy on the bass guitar, Sandipan Parial on the drums, Ratul Shankar in Congas and shaker, and Nabarun Bose on keyboards. The video is conceptualised and directed by Rohan Basu.
The video shows a young boy, played by Rwitobroto, who tries to woo his crush on a neighbour, Angana. However, it is her father who doesn’t allow the boy to come near his daughter. After many attempts, when the boy finally gives up, the girl responds to his love and sends him a letter.
