Exclusive! Anup Soni says he is still very hungry for better and bigger projects

Anup Soni is one of the famous faces of the television world. However, the actor has also been seen in multiple films and web series portraying substantial characters. 

He has recently been seen in ZEE5's Saas Bahu Achaar Pvt. Ltd. alongside Amruta Subhash. Anup spoke about his journey in the industry, his upcoming projects and more. Excerpts:

Talking about the show, Anup said, "Saas Bahu Achaar Pvt Ltd is a journey of each of the characters in the show and it is really emotional."

"As an actor, I don't think that I only need to portray positive roles and say good things on the screen only. Because as an artist we should experiment with different things and also surprise the audience with unexpected things," he added his thoughts on his character.

Anup began his career in 1999 with a film called Godmother. Talking about his journey in the industry, Anup mentioned, "In a way, it has been satisfying, but an actor is never satisfied. So I want to do better and bigger roles and projects. Thankfully, I've never stepped down in my career and have always kept myself motivated to take up different work. But yes, as an actor I'm still very hungry for better and bigger projects. I am working towards catching more and more better projects and characters to portray in them."

Anup is one of the famous faces of the Crime Patrol as an anchor. The actor has recently been seen portraying the same role in Bhuvan Bam's Dhindhora but with a satirical take on it. Talking about his experience in working on the web series, he mentioned, "It was quite funny for me because I had to talk about non-sensical and light topics but in a serious tone. So it was really an interesting experience for me."

When asked about his views on the censorship on OTT platforms, the Balika Vadhu actor mentioned, "According to me, self-censorship is enough. I think makers know what kind of things the audience wants and what kind of things they reject. And I think that censorship from an outside body limits a lot of things including the variety of stories you want to convey to the viewers."

Anup also informed about his upcoming projects to OTTplay and said, "I've just got done with the shooting of two web series and a film. And I'm sure that my character in one of the shows is really going to surprise the audience."
