Exclusive: Abhijeet Sawant to participate in Salman Khan hosted Bigg Boss OTT 2? Here’s THE TRUTH!

The very moment someone mentions the name Abhijeet Sawant, what comes to mind is the face of a simple, innocent guy with an exceptionally awesome voice to match. Well… it is this exceptionally awesome voice which became instrumental in him becoming the first ever ‘Indian idol’, which had got premiered on 28 October 2004, to be more precise. Those who had witnessed the Grand Finale episode would definitely vouch for a fact that, its was noting less than a nail-biting finish. For the uninitiated, the ‘Grand Finale’ saw Abhijeet Sawant whisking away the title by just a whisker while beating the other finalists.

Post winning the prestigious title of Indian Idol season one, Abhijeet Sawant went onto do playback singing in films like ‘Aashiq Banaya Aapne’, ‘Tees Maar Khan’, ‘Dishoom’ and others. These days, Abhijeet Sawant has again became the topic of discussion. No… he has not won another reality show. But his name has been constantly popping up as one of the contestants in the second season of the much-talked about reality show ‘Bigg Boss OTT 2’. Its being said that, Abhijeet Sawant will be now seen as one of the contestants in the OTT version/ format of the reality show ‘Bigg Boss’, although no official announcement has been made till now.

That’s why, we, at OTTplay, thought of calling Abhijeet Sawant himself and getting it checked. Speaking exclusively to OTTplay, Abhijeet Sawant said, “No… Aisa kuch bhi nahi hai. (No…it is nothing of that sort). I have not been approached by anyone to be a part of Bigg Boss OTT 2. Neither the channel nor the production house has approached me so far”. In the same breath, we asked Abhijeet Sawant, then, how come suddenly, his name got sprung up all of a sudden as a participant in ‘Bigg Boss OTT2’. To which, Abhijeet Sawant said, “It’s just that, in one of the previous seasons, there was Rahul Vaidya (who was also one of the Indian Idol contestants of the first season) had participated. Maybe that’s why, this time round, the ‘newsmakers’ have added me as one of the contestants in the second season of ‘Bigg Boss OTT’.

When asked about what’s keeping him busy these days, Abhijeet Sawant said, “I am ready with two singles. Plus, there is one chartbuster Ganpati song, which I am working on for the upcoming season of Ganeshotsav”.
