It’s been well over two years since Kushee Ravi debuted in Kannada cinema with the sleeper hit, Dia. In the time since, the actress has been a part of a few feature films, none of which have made it to theatres yet. While her next, Spooky College is likely to get a 2022 release, Kushee has also been keeping herself busy and in the public domain with a slew of short film projects. In recent times, Kushee has been part of as many as four such films – Jaatare, Ikshana, Sangama Samagama and, the latest, Everything is Possible.
The sci-fi short film, written and directed for the screen by Ikshvakuram, is currently streaming in NammaFlix. It stars Kushee and Mata Koppala (MK Mata). The film follows Kushee as Poorna, an asto student, who travels back in time from to 1964 to meet her favourite astronomer Dr Ramdas Rokhde (Mata Koppala), on the fateful day that would turn our to be his last. Rokhde, the author of the book Everything is Possible, which lists theories that Poorna uses to travel back in time, isn’t easily convinced that she has actually put his ideas to good use. In fact, he isn’t sure they would work; as far as he is concerned, they are theories and may or may not be feasible. More importantly, his most famous work that she has referenced is yet to be published and still resting as a manuscript on his typewriter.
Armed with only 20-odd minutes to meet her idol and convince him that his theories work, Poorna has her work cut out for her from the word go. As Poorna, Kushee is quite bubbly, even though her Elizabethen-era outfit seems a tad strange for someone who’s just travelled back in time from 2043 to 1964. But then she has an explanation for that.
