Everyone’s loving Dasara’s Suri – Dheekshith Shetty

Dheekshith Shetty is currently on cloud nine. The actor’s first big-ticket pan-India release, Dasara, in which he has a pivotal role along side Nani and Keerthy Suresh has opened to tremendous response and Dheekshith in particular has been getting a lot of love.

Dasara revolves around three characters – Dharani (Nani), Suri (Dheekshith) and Vennala (Keerthy). For the role, Dheekshith had to sport a raw and rugged avatar, which was miles apart from what he’s done in Kannada or Telugu cinema so far. Prior to the release, OTTplay had asked Dheekshith if his audiences were ready for such a drastic transformation and he had said that as an actor, it would not be wise to keep doing the same kind of roles and that he had to experiment with his looks and characters.

That gamble has definitely paid off for Dheekshith, who has been besieged with congratulatory messages on social media. On-ground events are no different, with crowds thronging to catch a glimpse of the actor at theatre visits. Dheekshith must be standing his lucky stars that Malayalam actor Roshan Mathew had scheduling isues, forcing the team of Dasara to look for another actor to play Suri. At the time, Dheekshith had just worked on Nani’s sister’s project, Meet Cute, and the assistant directors on that project suggested him for Dasara. And the rest, as they say, is history.
