The world of streaming has been having back-to-back wild moments as shows continue to drop, actors join tentpole shows, and production houses persist in finding IPs with a glorious future. There are so many exciting things happening. There is so much to look after and also so much to wait for. But while we now obsess over House Of The Dragon and await the release of many other shows, including The Penguin, Agatha All Along, and more, one show that has been a part of the mainstream headlines is Euphoria. For months now, the most asked question around the Zendaya-starring show has been whether the makers will continue the show with season 3 or not and if yes, when does it begin? Well, we may have found the answer today.
For the unversed, Euphoria has been the talk of the town almost throughout the lockdown when the world discovered the show and the second season of the same dropped in 2022. The fans of the show have been waiting for the third season ever since. But there have been only rumors and speculations but no confirmed dates for Euphoria Season 3, and fans were getting restless because of the same. A couple of controversies also followed the show. But it turns out Francesca Orsi, EVP of HBO programming and head of HBO drama series and films, has now confirmed that season 3 is indeed happening.
The production on Euphoria Season 3 was to begin in June 2023, but nothing really moved forward, and there was no update. Now, season 3 is all set to enter production and will air on our screens in 2025 as it will begin production in January 2025. However, with the delay in production, the cast members have taken other jobs, and now the makers will have to plan the schedule according to the availability of the actors. There is also an update that says the show will take a leap from the beginning of the third season.
"I am thrilled that we are ready to begin production on Euphoria in January," Francesca Orsi, EVP of HBO programming and head of HBO drama series and films, talking to Deadline said. "We could not be happier with our creative partnership with Sam and this incredible cast. We look forward to bringing this new season of Euphoria to life for the fans."
The official synopsis from HBO for Euphoria reads, "Euphoria follows a group of high school students as they navigate love and friendships in a world of drugs, sex, trauma, and social media. The series is executive produced by Drake, along with manager Future the Prince. The ensemble cast includes: actor and singer Zendaya, Maude Apatow (Girls), Angus Cloud, Eric Dane, Alexa Demie, Jacob Elordi, Barbie Ferreira, Nika King, Storm Reid, Hunter Schafer, Algee Smith, and Sydney Sweeney (Sharp Objects)."
Euphoria streams on JioCinema in India. Stay tuned to OTTplay for more information on this and everything else from the world of streaming and films.
