Enkilum Chandrike release date: When and where to watch Basil Joseph, Suraj Venjaramoodu’s comedy entertainer

The past few months, with movies such as Malikappuram and Jaya Jaya Jaya Jaya Hey, have proven that Malayalam audience don’t need films to have superstars attached to turn them into blockbusters. Debutant filmmaker Adithyan Chandrashekar would be hoping that his movie Enkilum Chandrike continues this trend.

The film, which is produced by the makers of #Home and the Aadu franchise, has Basil Joseph, Suraj Venjaramoodu, Tanvi Ram, Niranjana Anoop, Saiju Kurup and Abhiram Radhakrishnan in pivotal roles.

What is the story of Enkilum Chandrike?

The movie is a feel-good comedy entertainer, helmed by Adithyan, who had acted in Hridayam and had previously helmed webseries such as Arsha Baiju’s Average Ambili and Rock Paper Scissors. The filmmaker, in a recent interview with OTTplay, said that the movie revolves around the antics of a group of men once they find out that the titular character Chandrika’s wedding is fixed.

Adithyan also told us that the story happens in the men’s world and focuses on a series of humorous incidents that take place between them.

Who plays whom in Enkilum Chandrike?

Niranjana essays the titular character in the film, which is set in a fictional village named Koodanthonda. Suraj Venjaramoodu, Basil Joseph, Saiju Kurup and Tanvi Ram play Pavithran, Kiran, Abhi and Sujina, respectively, in the movie that is co-written by Arjun Narayanan and Adithyan.

A highlight of the film is that while Suraj, Basil and Saiju have all been part of several comedies, this film will have them sharing screen space for the first time. “During the narration itself, they were all interested in which actors are playing the other characters. When they heard the names, they became more excited, especially because they liked the script,” said Adithyan.

When and where to watch Enkilum Chandrike?

Enkilum Chandrike is set to release in theatres in Kerala on February 17. The movie will clash with Mathew Thomas and Malavika Mohanan’s Christy and Lal’s Dear Vaapi.
