Amazon Prime Video dropped an intriguing trailer of the film named Encounter on Wednesday. The upcoming psychological action-thriller film stars Oscar nominee Riz Ahmed, who has now revealed the date of release through his social media handles. The forthcoming film follows a decorated Marine, who set out on a rescue mission of his own sons from an unknown threat. In order to save them, the father takes his two children on a long journey.
The Sound of Metal actor shared the video on Instagram and mentioned in the caption that it might be a road trip or rescue mission nut it is definitely a crazy ride. He also mentioned that Encounter will be out on Amazon Prime Video on December 10.
The official trailer begins with the Marine officer calling his wife and asking about how his sons are doing. Ahmed’s Mallik Khan reaches his home and mysteriously checks his sons’ pupils and then takes them on a journey. He gets stopped by police, who surprisingly asks him why is he taking his children on a trip in the middle of the night. As soon as the protagonist sees the police officers pupil directing, he attacks him starts punching him. Later a whole unit of police officers can be seen chasing the actor to stop him from doing something dangerous.
The forthcoming film also features the Academy Award winner Octavia Spencer, Rory Cochrane, Janina Gavankar, Lucian-River Chauhan and the debut child actor Aditya Geddada.
Written by Pearce and Joe Barton, the film has already been for four BAFTAs including Best Actor and Best Supporting Actor to Riz Ahmed and Lucian-River Chauhan respectively. Encounter, which is set to release on December 3 in some parts of the world including the UK, is available to stream on Amazon Prime Video from December 10.
