There was widespread panic after news broke out that Emraan Hashmi was injured after a miscreant pelted stone at him and the crew of Ground Zero during its shooting at Pahalgam in Kashmir. However, it turns out that the news is partially false. Though police arrested a person in connection with stone pelting, the actor was unaffected with it.
He also took to Twitter to clarify the same. In fact, he said that he enjoyed shooting in Srinagar and Pahalgam, and that people were quite friendly when he visited those places.
His tweet read, "The people of Kashmir have been very warm and welcoming, it has been an absolute joy shooting in Srinagar and Pahalgam. The news of me being injured in a stone pelting incident is inaccurate (sic)." The movie directed by Tejas Deoskar has Emraan playing the role of an army man.
Sai Tamhankar and Zoya Hussain are other actors who will be seen essaying important characters in the movie which will have the former playing Emraan's wife in it. Billed as a military drama, the project is expected to release in 2023. The other day, it was a historic day for movie buffs in Kashmir as theatres were reopened in Shopian and Pulwama after more than three decades.
Emraan was last seen in Dybbuk, which had a direct release on Amazon Prime Video in 2021. Chechre was the last outing of the actor which had a theatrical release in the same year. He was seen along with Amitabh Bachchan in the movie.
He has the much-awaited Tiger and Selfiee in his kitty currently. While the former will have him share screen space with Salman Khan, the latter, a remake of the Malayalam movie, has him sharing screen space with Akshay Kumar.
