Empuraan advance booking opens! Mohanlal-Prithviraj Sukumaran’s movie set for a spectacular start

Prithviraj Sukumaran’s Empuraan, with Mohanlal in the lead, is set for its big release next week. The advance ticket booking for the second installment in the Lucifer franchise has begun. The highly anticipated movie is expected to get one of the biggest openers in Malayalam. Read on to know some staggering figures from advance ticket sales of Empuraan.

Mohanlal-Prithviraj’s Empuraan bookings open 

Fans have been counting down to the release of Empuraan, and now the all-India bookings have opened. Empuraan director Prithviraj Sukumaran has shared the update on his social media handles. 

The first-day-first-show of Mohanlal-starrer Empuraan will begin at 6.00 AM on March 27, 2025. Fans have already made a beeline to book their tickets in advance and there has been a remarkable response from centres across the state and even overseas, as per reports.  

Online trackers are predicting that Empuraan advance sales will cross the 20-crore mark on Friday itself. They further said that the Prithviraj Sukumaran will be Mollywood’s top-opening day 1 collection. 

Some fan clubs also shared screenshots of tickets getting sold in a matter of minutes, while fan shows at certain centres have already been sold out. 

Empuraan cast

The Empuraan trailer was released on March 20, 2025, giving a glimpse of the characters and events that are set to unravel in the second part of the Lucifer trilogy. The first part, Lucifer released in 2019, narrated the story of Stephen Nedumpally who comes to the rescue of top politician PK Ramdas’ family after his death. Manju Warrier, Tovino Thomas, Indrajith and Prithviraj himself were part of the film, which was a blockbuster hit. 

The main cast of Lucifer would be returning for Empuraan too with the addition of several notable names from across various industries, including global stars. Abhimanyu Singh, Eriq Ebouaney, Jerome Flynn, Suraj Venjaramoodu and Nikhat Khan join the cast of Empuraan, the plot of which develops over various regions in India and abroad. 

The Empuraan plot is expected to reveal the back stories of Khureshi Ab’raam and Zayed Masood, played by Mohanlal and Prithviraj.
