Schitt’s Creek and Emily In Paris were undoubtedly the two web shows which entertained us the most through the COVID-19 lockdown in 2020. While there is little scope for the revival of Schitt’s Creek, Emily In Paris is coming back!
The show has begun production with lead actress Lily Collins shooting for the film. Netflix, which streamed the show, made the big announcement on social media with the help of a fun video.
They captioned the post, “Merci beaucoup to our 58 million fans for making Emily in Paris our most popular comedy series of 2020 — you're going to love what they're working on for Season 2, which is now in production!”
Here’s a screengrab from the announcement:
Lily spilled details about season 2 and shared in a statement, "Not only did playing Emily teach me more about myself, but also about the world around me. I couldn't be happier to be back in Paris for Season 2 to expand upon those lessons, to continue to grow, and learn even more about this beautiful city and all of its character with Emily."
Emily In Paris is the story of a marketing executive Emily (Lily), who has been transferred to France from Chicago. While she initially has a tough time dealing with the French people, Emily warms up to everyone, manages to change their minds and finds her own self during her journey.
Helmed by Younger and Sex and The City creator, writer and executive producer Darren Star, the show also features Ashley Park, Philippine Leroy Beaulieu and Lucas Bravo in pivotal roles.
