Emergency will mark the directorial debut of Kangana Ranaut. After multiple date changes, the film was supposed to hit the theatres on September 6, 2024. However, amid the growing controversies, the biographical political drama has been postponed. The new release date is yet to be announced. Amid this, Kangana made a special appeal to her fans and urged them not to ban her film and only judge after watching it.

Kangana Ranaut's appeal to fans for Emergency

As per India Today, Kangana made a special appeal to fans before the Emergency release. She urged the viewers to watch the film before banning it.

“Emergency is an authentic film, and if fringe groups are provoking people, the decision should be made after watching the movie. Do not ban it before watching,” Kangana said.

She further asserted that if you believe Bhindranwale was a terrorist, then her movie should still be released. The actress said that she is standing alone in support of her film.

Kangana further expressed her frustration at the lack of industry support, unlike her experience with films like Padmaavat and Udta Punjab, which despite facing threats, received support and was released successfully.

“Films like Padmaavat and Udta Punjab released well, even after all the threats, but when it comes to my film, no one has stepped up. I’m completely on my own,” she concluded.

Kangana Ranaut was forced to sell her Mumbai office

In an interview with News18, the Tenu Weds Manu actress revealed the real reason behind selling her Mumbai office. She said, “Naturally, my film (Emergency) was supposed to be released. I put all my personal property on it. Now that it's not released, so anyway, that's what properties are for – for times of crisis."

Meanwhile, Emergency is a biographical drama that revolves around the life of the former prime minister Indira Gandhi. The film will showcase the period from 1975 to 1977 when the Emergency was imposed. Kangana will be seen playing the role of Indira Gandhi in the movie.
