Elizabeth Olsen, who most recently appeared in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness as Wanda Maximoff, nicknamed the Scarlet Witch, admitted that she has yet to watch the movie.
According to Variety, Olsen revealed during a recent interview on The Tonight Show that she was unable to watch the film at its premiere due to a cold and that she later decided not to watch the watermarked screener Disney offered her as a backup because it was simply too distracting.
Olsen said that she doesn't belong to the group of actors who skip watching their own work. She is one of those people who enjoys researching a topic to learn how to improve it. However, the actor was contagious at the time of the premiere and didn't want to sit through it. She requested a copy from the makers so she could see it, but she didn't want to watch it that way because it had her name and the time she watched it.
Olsen added that it included the precise time and date as well as her name. Simply put, it was annoying for her.
Jimmy Fallon, the host of the show, stated that watermarks are present on Marvel screeners in case you sell them illegally. To which Olsen retorted, "How do you even do that? To whom are you even sending it? How exactly do you capture it on a computer?"
Meanwhile, Olsen is still unsure of her position in the MCU's future. After Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, the Scarlet Witch's fate remained a mystery.
Variety reports that an Agatha Harkness spinoff will be added to the character's Disney Plus series WandaVision, while speculations regarding a Scarlet Witch standalone project are also circulating.
Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is directed by Sam Raimi and stars Benedict Cumberbatch, reprising his titular role. The film is currently streaming on Disney+ Hotstar.
