Apart from unveiling a big project, The Queens of Chambal, ALTBalaji head and producer Ekta Kapoor had another surprise in store for fans on Monday, when she announced that the show The Married Woman has been revived for another season.
The show, which has Monica Dogra and Riddhi Dogra in the lead, revolves around the lives of Astha and Peeplika. Set in the 90s, the show follows homemaker and mother Astha, who is trying to discover herself, as she meets an unconventional artist Peeplika. However, as the two get to know each other better, Astha begins doubting the latter’s intentions.
Both Monica and Riddhi were present at the virtual press meet and spoke about their characters in the show. It’s also fitting that the makers decided to announce its second season during the Pride Month.
Monica, who plays a pansexual in the show, also said that she hopes that her character gets the reunion she deserves in the upcoming season as that’s what most of the fans too want.
The first season had premiered on March 8 this year on ALTBalaji with 11 episodes. Apart from Ridhi and Monica, it also had Suhaas Ahuja, Nadira Babbar and Imaad Shah in pivotal roles.
The upcoming season is expected to begin shooting later this year with a premiere set for 2022.
