On Friday, T-Series released a brand new song from Ek Villain Returns. Arjun Kapoor and John Abraham cry in the love ballad Dil for their respective partners, Tara Sutaria and Disha Patani. The song keeps the audience guessing as to who the true antagonist in the movie is.

On their social media pages, Arjun Kapoor and John Abraham posted a link to the new song and referred to it as music for the love that blooms within you. The song's music video opened with Arjun Kapoor and Tara Sutaria having fun and being passionate in their relationship before cutting to John Abraham and Disha Patani just starting in their relationship.

Near the end of the song, the mood changes to a darker one. In many scenes, Tara Sutaria can be seen crying and acting afraid, and in one, Arjun weeps while giving her a hug. In some of the song's scenes, John Abraham is also seen sobbing over Disha.

Raghav Chaitanya sang Dil, which was tuned by the musical team Kaushik-Guddi. In addition to being produced by T-Series, the song's lyrics were written by Kunaal Vermaa.

The events of the 2014 movie Ek Villain, in which Sidharth Malhotra, Shraddha Kapoor, and Riteish Deshmukh appeared, take place eight years later in Ek Villain Returns. In the first movie, Riteish played a serial murderer named Rakesh who killed women who were unkind to him. In the follow-up, a new antagonist is revealed who preys on ladies who don't return men's affections. Whether John or Arjun is the genuine bad guy is a matter of debate thanks to this action thriller.

The theatrical debut of Mohit Suri's sequel to Ek Villain, which he also directed, is set for July 29. The 29th of July has been referred to as "Villains Day" by John and Arjun.
