Eega, Oohalu Gusagusalade, Anukokunda Oka Roju and more: Netflix's Telugu lineup to get a major boost

If at all 2022 has confirmed something, it is Netflix's active interest to make its presence felt in the Telugu market. The streaming giant has aggressively begun acquiring the digital rights of well-sought out Telugu films and this clearly shows their interest to better its reach across Telugu speaking audiences. ZEE5, Disney+ Hotstar, aha and Amazon Prime are among the most popular OTTs with Telugu viewers and this push from Netflix was necessary to strengthen its prospects in this market.

Some of Netflix's many popular acquisitions this year include Shyam Singha Roy, Major, Virata Parvam, Ante Sundaraniki, Mishan Impossible, F3, Ranga Ranga Vaibhavanga, Krishna Vrinda Vihari, Saakini Daakini, The Ghost, Godfather, Happy Birthday, Pakka Commercial and most recently, Urvasivo Rakshasivo. December 2022 will get better for Telugu viewers on Netflix, with the arrival of several popular titles that released in the previous decade or two.

This weekend alone, there are seven releases of old titles, including SS Rajamouli's Eega, Naga Chaitanya's Dohchay, Vaisshnav Tej's Konda Polam, Satyadev's Guvva Gorinka, Vishwant starrer O Pitta Katha, Bellamkonda Sai Sreenivas' actioner Jaya Janaki Nayaka and Sree Vishnu- Rajendra Prasad's comedy Gaali Sampath. In the coming week, three other interesting titles are arriving on the platform - Chandrasekhar Yeleti's Anukokunda Oka Roju, Naga Shaurya's Oohalu Gusagusalade and Dikkulu Choodaku Ramayya.

The arrival of these titles are certain to increase the films' popularity among a global audience. It is also believed that the Hindi version of RRR on Netflix went a long way in contributing to the film's massive reach.
