Dushara Vijayan enters the world of Raayan! Here's a key detail about her role in Dhanush's gangster drama

Sarpatta Parambarai actress Dushara Vijayan is the latest entrant in Dhanush's gangster drama Raayan. The makers of the film unveiled a special character poster of the actress from the film and she looks nothing short of enthralling in the monochromatic poster. Wearing a saree and looking at a void sky, the actress appears distressed in the poster. All the posters for Raayan released so far exude dark and neo-noir vibes, which has fans curious about what director and actor Dhanush has created.

According to the latest grapevine, Raayan does not have a female lead. It is being reported that Dushera plays Dhanush’s sister in the gangster drama. However, an official confirmation about this is awaited. 

The makers had earlier released the character posters for SJ Suryah, Prakash Raj, and Selvaraghavan.

Does Dhanush play a cook in Raayan?

Raayan, which is Dhanush’s second directorial after Pa Paandi (2017), is his 50th film as an actor. Although the makers have been tight-lipped about the plot of the film, some reports suggest that the gangster drama revolves around Raayan, a cook played by Dhanush. The film is apparently set in North Madras.

At one point, the mystery behind his past is revealed, which shocks everyone around him. It appears that the regular cook is a former gangster with a secret past. Kalidas Jayaram and Sundeep Kishan are rumoured to play Raayan’s (Dhanush) brothers.  

Dhanush, Prakash Raj, SJ Suryah, Selvaraghavan, Dushara Vijayan, Kalidas Jayaram, Aparna Balamurali, Anikha Surendran and Sundeep Kishan play key roles in Raayan. The music for the film has been composed by AR Rahman and there is also a dance number choreographed by Prabhudheva.
