Prabhas' Salaar clashed at the box office with Shah Rukh Khan's Dunki. While Dunki was released on December 21, the Prashanth Neel directorial hit the silver screen on December 22. Despite a major box office clash with Shah Rukh Khan's film, the Prabhas starrer continues to dominate at the ticket window. While the total BO collection of Dunki is ₹140 crore, Salaar's earning stands at ₹280 crore.

More about Salaar

Directed by Prashanth Neel, the film also features Shruti Haasan, Prithviraj Sukumaran, Jagapathi Babu, Bobby Simha, and others. Salaar revolves around the lives of childhood friends Deva and Vardha. Produced by Vijay Kiragandur, the movie is reportedly based on Prashanth's 2014 Kannada movie, Ugramm. However, the makers haven't touted it to be the remake of that film.

How Dunki performed as compared to Pathaan and Salaar?

Meanwhile, Dunki is Shah Rukh Khan's third theatrical release of the year. The superstar started the year on a blockbuster note with Siddharth Anand's Pathaan and he later starred in filmmaker Atlee's Jawan. Both movies stand among the highest-grossing films of this year.

As far as Dunki is concerned, the Rajkumar Hirani directorial hasn't been able to shatter Pathaan and Jawan's box office record. The film is maintaining a slow yet steady pace at the box office. Within 6 days of its theatrical release, Dunki earned ₹140 crore while Pathaan earned ₹280 crore on its opening weekend and minted around ₹287 crore over the first weekend.
