Dunki, the film starring Shah Rukh Khan has wrapped up its first weekend of release in theaters. On Thursday, January 21, the movie premiered in theaters, although its first-day box office collection was a little disappointing. But the movie has now made a spectacular comeback, relying on favorable reviews and strong word-of-mouth to make over Rs 200 crore globally in its opening weekend.
In its first three days, Dunki had made a net income of Rs 75 crore. According to trade sources, the movie made Rs 32 crore on Sunday, its best day at the box office so far.
With this, its domestic net worth in the first four days has reached Rs 107 crore. Due in large part to Shah Rukh's popularity in the Middle East, North America, and Europe, the movie has also performed well abroad. Trade sources claim that on Sunday, the film's global box office collection surpassed Rs 200 crore, making it the fourth Bollywood release of the year to accomplish that milestone.
However, the Telugu action thriller Salaar, which opened in theaters on Friday, has been giving Dunki significant domestic competition. This year's biggest opening for an Indian film went to Prabhas and Prithviraj Sukumaran's film. In its first three days, it has already made Rs 400 crore in revenue.
