With just three days remaining for the theatrical release of Dunki, moviemakers are leaving no stone unturned to promote the film in full swing. This evening, Dunki makers dropped a 30-minute-long video on YouTube titled – ‘Dunki Diaries’ – wherein the core cast and crew of the film discussed in detail about the film. During the conversation, filmmaker Rajkumar Hirani detailed how action director Sham Kaushal helped him during the shoot of the film.

During the conversation about the movie, Shah Rukh Khan showed a photo of Taapsee Pannu standing confidently in a wrestling akhada. He funnily claimed that Taapsee is inspired by him and thus wishes to do more action films in the future.
Hearing this opinion from Shah Rukh Khan; Taapsee Pannu laughed. Taapsee then elaborated that the moviemakers urged her to learn wrestling to shoot a few scenes in the film. She even expressed that she felt surprised knowing that she was expected to beat him up in the akhada.
Then, Rajkumar Hirani intervened and clarified what exactly transpired on the set of the film. He said, “In most of my films, Sham Kaushal ji has been my action director. Sham ji often used to complain to me that my films did not have much scope for action. Even in 3 Idiots, the lead cast of the film was tied up with wires while shooting for a scene on top of a tank. No other action scene was there in it.”
“So, Sham ji often feels curious to read the script with me. He always felt that there was scope for putting in a lot of action (scenes) in my films. So, Dunki is my first film that has more action scenes than my previous ones,” Rajkumar Hirani added.
Hearing this, Shah Rukh Khan funnily mentioned the reason behind Vicky Kaushal’s role in the film. He said, “Raju sir, aapne iss film main Vicky ko Sham ji ke gunde se hee pitwa diya hai. (Raju sir, you have got Vicky beaten up in the film via Sham ji’s goons.)”
For the unfamiliar, actor Vicky Kaushal is the son of Sham Kaushal. Responding to SRK, Rajkumar Hirani said, “Sham ji often used to feel worried for Vicky whenever he carried out an action scene in the film.”
Together, they decided to wrap up the conversation and not spill more beans about the film. Dunki is slated to be released on December 21 theatrically.
