What To Expect From Dune Prophecy Finale

The world of Dune has become one of the fastest-growing cinematic worlds in world cinema. The Denis Villeneuve films have created a base that has landed itself to be a foundation for a widespread franchise that can flourish in various formats and with varied filmmakers. Enter Dune: Prophecy, a show that is set over 10,000 years before the events of the Timothée Chalamet movies and tells us the story of the coveted Sisterhood, whom we now know as the Bene Gesserit. The show, led by Olivia Williams and Emily Watson, has quickly become one of the most talked-about shows of the year, and even before we can process the complete frenzy, we have already reached the finale of (hopefully) the first of many seasons.
Yes, you read that right. We are now in the week where the season finale of Dune: Prophecy, i.e., Episode 6, will hit shores. Coming Monday (for India) will bring a lot of drama because there is so much to process at this point. We have so far seen how Valya and Tula rose to become the Mother Superior and Reverend Mother, respectively, and what motivates them to be at the top. But their leadership was challenged by a powerful enemy called Desmond Hart, who knows nothing but the end of the Sisterhood. How will Valya save her life and herself from falling? Episode 6 has a whole lot to unpack, and that makes the drama amp up by notches.
So, the trailer for Dune: Prophecy Episode 6 has revealed the highlights of the dramatic episode, giving us an idea of what to expect. Today, as we stand a couple of days away from the release, let’s look at three highlights that might form the base of the finale of the first season of the show that has indeed become very interesting.
If there is one mystery that has given us sleepless nights (of course, exaggeration), it has to be the mystery around Desmond Hart. The man who appeared out of nowhere, claiming he survived a Sandworm attack on Arrakis, grew on the show like a wild creeper. The show established him as a clean slate, only to fill him up with the darkest grey color. His aim is to destroy the Sisterhood, and he will do it anyhow. But what—who—is he? How does he possess magic? We are told in the fifth episode that he is Tula’s son, whom she had with Orry Atreides. But what about the powers? The trailer for Episode 6 takes us through a scene where we delve into his past again, and probably that is where our answers lie.
Valya has been on her feet for the last two episodes, scared by the threat that stands on the brink of war with the Emperor because he is now enthralled by Desmond Hart, who has started controlling his decisions. But the teaser of Episode 6 confirms that Valya is not only fighting a threat that stands at the door but also one that stays within. There is a mole in the Sisterhood that has compromised their safety and may be aligned with Hart, wanting the Sisterhood destroyed. It will be intriguing to see this storyline unfold in the wildest manner because there is almost no one we have suspected until now.
Sister Francesca, played by Tabu, has made a very interesting entry in Dune: Prophecy toward the end. We saw her enter the show in Episode 5, where we were told Constantine is her son and that she is here to see him. Now, for a character of Francesca’s stature, the reason for her visit cannot be that simple—one has to agree. So we see her get intimate with the Emperor in the trailer of Episode 6, even though she had said that she doesn’t want to be a problem for his wife. What is she exactly up to? Desmond Hart even warns the Emperor about her. It will be very interesting to see her true intentions, and that could change the game completely.
