The actor is next set to begin work on Soubin Shahir’s directorial Othiram Kadakkam

Last year, Dulquer Salmaan’s birthday was a gift that kept on giving for the fans. The actor, through his social media page, had announced several films including Soubin Shahir’s Othiram Kadakkam and Abhilash Joshiy’s King of Kotha. This year too, fans are gearing up for more surprises.
There have been rumours over the last few days that the actor could be teaming up again with directors Amal Neerad, Anwar Rasheed and Sameer Thahir; all of whom he had worked with previously and that too for superhit films. However, there has been no official confirmation regarding any of these projects from the actor's side or the filmmakers'.
Amal is fresh off Mammootty’s Bheeshmaparvam, the biggest hit of his career. The filmmaker had previously teamed up with Dulquer for Comrade in America as well as the segment Kullante Bharya in the anthology 5 Sundarikal. Sameer, whose previous directorial was Dulquer’s Kali in 2016, had also helmed the young star’s Neelakasham Pachakadal Chuvanna Bhoomi in 2013. Anwar, meanwhile, had worked with Dulquer in Ustad Hotel and also co-produced Bangalore Days.
Dulquer is next set to begin work on Soubin’s sophomore directorial venture – Othiram Kadakkam, which is touted to be an entertainer. The actor-director is currently busy with the pre-production work on the film that is set to go on floors soon.
Abhilash Joshiy’s big budget feature King of Kotha, which is also produced by Dulquer’s Wayfarer Films, is expected to begin shooting this year. In an earlier interview with OTTplay, Abhilash had said that it is a gangster film based on events that happen in a fictional town called Kotha. “It has equal importance to emotions, romance and action,” he said.
Apart from Dulquer, King of Kotha will also have another star in a pivotal role. While several names including Prithviraj Sukumaran’s is doing the rounds, the makers are yet to announce the official cast. Dulquer’s upcoming releases including Hanu Raghavapudi’s Sita Ramam and R Balki’s Bollywood thriller Chup: Revenge of The Artist. He is also part of Raj Nidimoru and Krishna DK’s Netflix webseries Guns and Gulaabs.
