Malayalam actor Soubin Shahir’s second directorial could see two of Malayalam’s dependable stars – Dulquer Salmaan and Kunchacko Boban – team up, if reports are to be believed. The actor-director, who had made his debut with Parava that had Dulquer in an extended cameo, is reportedly gearing up for his second directorial that will once again have him collaborating with the King of Kotha star.
Incidentally, Soubin was set to team up with Dulquer last year for a film titled Othiram Kadakam , which was set to be produced by the Guns and Gulaabs actor. The team had reportedly even completed its pre-production, but the movie was stalled. It’s not clear whether the upcoming film is Othiram Kadakam or a completely new project.
Kunchacko Boban and Dulquer Salmaan to work together?
Interestingly, it’s rumoured that Kunchacko Boban will also be part of the film. This will be the first time that the duo, who have been friends, will team up for a movie, if it happens. Kunchacko is also rumoured to be part of another hugely-anticipated movie, which is helmed by Amal Neerad. There have been no official confirmations regarding this either.
Kaantha to Dulquer Salmaan’s upcoming projects
Both Dulquer and Kunchacko have an interesting line-up for films in the coming months. While Kunchacko is eagerly awaiting his next release Chaaver, which is helmed by Tinu Pappachan who incidentally will also work with Dulquer next year, and has Ezra director Jay K’s Grrr… coming up, the King of Kotha actor will start off with The Hunt for Veerappan director Selvamani Selvaraj’s Kaantha. The latter is jointly produced by Dulquer and Rana Daggubati. After Kaantha, Dulquer is expected to join Sir director Venky Atluri’s Lucky Bhaskar.
Meanwhile, his latest movie King of Kotha is reportedly set to breach the Rs 40 crore mark in worldwide box office. The OTT rights of the movie, which also has Aishwarya Lekshmi and Shabeer Kallarakkal, have been sold to Disney+ Hotstar.
