Dulquer Salmaan clears the air on King of Kotha's climax

King of Kotha is one of the most anticipated films from Malayalam, this year. Touted to be Dulquer’s biggest project yet, the hype is too big for the actioner drama. There were rumours that the makers had reshot the climax of the film.

Now, Dulquer has finally reacted to the rumours, surrounding the climax of King of Kotha. He was talking to Bollywood Hungama about his new music video, Heeriye.

“I started production because I wanted to make sure that my films are provided with everything, they need or deserve. When I was starting out in the industry, I have seen films suffering due to the lack of support from the production department. We did reshoot King of Kotha. It was not because of any problems with the film. But when we watched the film, we felt that the film warranted something even bigger,” Dulquer said while talking to Bollywood Hungama.

While talking about the experience, of working with other filmmakers from different languages, Dulquer added, “I am completely a director’s actor. I love to surrender to my team and submit to my director. I have worked with senior directors, newcomers, and women directors across different cultures and languages. Some languages lend themselves to be more poetic than others."

Helmed by Abhilash Joshiy, King of Kotha will hit theatres in August. The teaser of the movie broke the record for the highest number of views garnered on a day for a Malayalam promo. In the teaser, the character of Dulquer is hailed as a king in a fictional place called Kotha. According to the sources, the film is set in the timeline of the 1980s and Dulquer is touted to appear in multiple get-ups. The film is scripted by Abhilash N Chandran known for Porinju Mariyam Jose.
