Those awaiting news of Dulquer Salmaan’s King of Kotha might not have to wait much longer. The team are apparently gearing up to release a second look poster from the film, which is helmed by Abhilash Joshiy, soon.
The maker of the actioner had already released one look of the superstar from the film last year, when the movie went on floors. Recent reports suggest that new promo material from the movie is expected to be out on February 3, 2023, which will also mark 11 years since Dulquer made his acting debut with Second Show.
King of Kotha, which marked the debut directorial of veteran filmmaker Joshiy’s son Abhilash, is scripted by Abhilash N Chandran and has a host of actors including Aishwarya Lekshmi, Chemban Vinod Jose, Prasanna, Rithika Singh, Gokul Suresh and Nyla Usha as part of the cast. KGF actor Saran Shakti, Shanti Krishna and Rajesh Sharma will also be seen in a pivotal role in the movie, which will be produced by Dulquer’s Wayfarer Films. Shabeer Kallarakkal, who is known for his role as Dancing Rose in Sarpatta Parambarai, is rumoured to be playing the chief antagonist in the gangster-actioner set in a fictional town called Kotha.
Dulquer’s last straight Malayalam theatrical release was Srinath Rajendran’s Kurup, which had broken a lot of box office records, despite being released at a time when only 50% theatre occupancy was permitted. The movie had done business of over Rs 100 crore. King of Kotha is expected to do even better, considering the team behind it. The movie is also expected to get a pan-Indian release and most of the shoot has been happening in Tamil Nadu.
Apart from King of Kotha, several other announcements about Dulquer’s latest signings are also expected on February 3. King of Kotha is expected to hit theatres during Onam and rumoured to clash with Mohanlal and Jeethu Joseph’s Ram.
