Navdeep, who shot to fame with Jai in Telugu cinema, has made a mark on several mediums and languages at various capacities over the years. Besides dabbling with a wide variety of roles in mainstream cinema, he has made his presence felt on the small screen and the digital space. After having acted in handful of OTT shows, he is returning as a host with a show titled DugOut.
The actor has shared a good association with aha, having been part of web originals like Mastis, Newsense and Run. Now, he continues his collaboration with the streamer through a reality show titled DugOut. As the name suggests, it is a cricket show and is coming to the OTT platform this weekend. aha has confirmed that the episodes of the show will be streamed every Saturday, 7 PM from November 18.
In the teaser, Navdeep on DugOut is seen welcoming a special team - the cast and crew of Month of Madhu, including director Srikanth Nagothi and actress Swathi Reddy. Navdeep and Swathi Reddy began their careers in the industry at the same time and share a warm rapport. Their camaraderie was evident as aha shared the promo, while maintaining the suspense around the concept.
That’s not all, there’s another on-screen couple that’s set to charm us in the show - Shravan Reddy and Payal Rajput, who’re coming together for this week’s theatrical release Mangalavaaram (November 17), directed by Ajay Bhupathi. “They’ll (guests) be the ones to roll..we’ll be the ones to rule,” he says in the promo, adding that cricket is not just a game, but an emotion in the country.
The timing of DugOut is apt, targeting sports junkies just a day ahead of the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup Final on November 19. aha recently also facilitated the OTT debut of another popular star - Vishwak Sen - with a reality show Family Dhamaka. Some of the platform’s recent releases include The Road, Month of Madhu and Sarvam Shakthi Mayam.
