Drishyam, the 2013-released iconic crime drama has set a massive fan base among audiences across the globe. The movie, which marked the first collaboration of Mohanlal and director Jeethu Joseph, had a highly successful second installment, titled Drishyam 2, in 2022. The movie, which recreated the magic of its first installment, earned immense love from the audiences and critics. Now, the recent updates suggest that Mohanlal and Jeethu Joseph are teaming up for Drishyam 3, soon.

Drishyam 3 to start rolling soon?

If the recent updates are to be believed, Mohanlal and director Jeethu Joseph are finally set to reunite soon. The grapevine suggests that the actor-director duo is teaming up again for the highly anticipated third installment in the Drishyam franchise, which is expected to be titled Drishyam 3. According to the grapevine, the writer-filmmaker has already locked the script of the third part. The rumour mills suggest that the project will have an official announcement by the beginning of 2025.

All about Drishyam franchise

As you may know, Mohanlal appears in the role of George Kutty, a simple, hardworking man from a Kerala small town, in the franchise. He is a complete family man who goes till any extent to protect his wife Rani and their daughters, Anju and Anu. Their lives turn upside down after Anju accidentally kills Varun, the only son of IG Geetha Prabhakar IPS, who was blackmailing her. The first two installments revolve around George Kutty’s efforts to conceal the crime and protect his family.

Meena appears as George Kutty’s wife Rani in the film, which stars Ansiba Hassan and Esther Anil in the roles of the couple’s daughters, Anju and Anu. The movie features Asha Sharath, Siddique, Murali Gopy, Kalabhavan Shahjohn, Kozhikode Narayanan Nair, Shobha Mohan, and others in supporting roles. Unlike the second installment which had a direct OTT release on Amazon Prime Video, Drishyam 3 is expected to have a grand theatrical release.
