Drishyam 2 first weekend box office collections: Ajay Devgn's crime thriller surpasses the Rs. 60 crore mark in just 3 days

Drishyam 2 had a fantastic weekend, earning close to Rs. 63 crore net thanks to Sunday's strong performance on single screens. As per Box Office India, in Uttar Pradesh and Maharashtra, there were more single screens showing sales on Sunday than the combined sales from Friday and Saturday.

The trading website further reported that it is common for single screens to follow this trend when a non-action or mass-market movie performs well at the box office, but with this movie, it's the sheer number of single screens that have made it happen. It's difficult to think of another movie that had so many single screens showing it on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. In most locations, Sunday collections at single screens outperform Sunday collections at Brahmastra. For its length, Brahmastra had ordinary box office receipts on a single screen.

The Monday box office results will prove that the movie is a hit, but the real test will be how well it holds up over the next two weeks and whether it becomes a blockbuster. On day one, the movie made less money in three circuits than Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2, but by the weekend, all three circuits had significantly increased.
