Drishyam 2 Box Office Collection Day 1: Ajay Devgn, Akshaye Khanna, Tabu starrer has the third best opening post-pandemic

In terms of first-day box office collections, Drishyam 2 came in third place following the pandemic, behind the two event movies, Brahmastra and Sooryavanshi. As per Box Office India, by the end of the day, the film had performed well in Delhi NCR and East Punjab after a strong start in the North, where it had also performed well in Gujarat and Maharashtra.

The movie had both the crucial regions of Mumbai/Gujarat and the North on board, which is great for a successful box office run because when these are on board, almost all of India is as well. This is the fourth-best start for Ajay Devgn, after Singham Returns, Golmaal Again, and Total Dhamaal, all of which came out around the holidays.

The results are very surprising because the advance for the movie had been good up until Wednesday. On the last day before the movie came out, however, there was a lot of movement, even more than usual before the pandemic. The brand value has undoubtedly contributed, as the movie in this zone shouldn't be opening 40–50% higher than titles like Samraat Prithviraj, Shamshera, and Vikram Vedha.

The weekend advances are strong, thus the picture should at least hit the 50 crore nett milestone, and there is possibility for it to go much higher.

Meanwhile, as per production figures, one of Ajay Devgn's most loved roles, Vijay Salgaonkar, has caused mayhem at the box office. On its first Friday, Drishyam 2 brought in Rs 15.38 crore at the box office. The film has received favourable reviews and great word of mouth. In order to meet the demand for Drishyam 2, multiplex chains have added midnight performances as a result of increased theatre attendance. The movie is anticipated to gain during the weekend and finish with a strong weekend total.
