The Vijay Salgaonkar family is back! The shoot for the sequel to Drishyam, Drishyam 2 has been wrapped up. The Salgaonkar family completed the shoot with a song schedule in Goa and the makers announced the same today. The star cast of the film, directed by Abhishek Pathak, includes Ajay Devgn, Tabu, Akshaye Khanna, Shriya Saran and Ishita Dutta to name a few. The thriller has original score and music by Devi Sri Prasad.

It was only recently that Ajay Devgn had shared the teaser from the film and had captioned it, "Vijay aur uske parivaar ki kahaani toh yaad hogi na aapko? Ki yaad dilaye? #Drishyam2 in cinemas on 18th November, 2022 (sic)." The teaser gives a glimpse of the first part when the Salgaonkar family gets embroiled in a murder and are later interrogated by the police.

The plot of the Hindi version revolves around a cable operator called Vijay Salgaonkar (played by Ajay), who is passionate about films and dotes on his family comprising his wife Nandini (Shriya Saran) and daughters Anju and Anu. Tabu plays IG Meera Deshmukh, who investigates a murder of which the Salgaonkar family is a prime suspect. The first part was directed by Nishikant Kamath.

Drishyam 2 is produced by Bhushan Kumar, Kumar Mangat Pathak, Abhishek Pathak and Krishan Kumar and presented by Viacom18 Studios, T-Series and Panorama Studios. The film is set to release in theatres on 18th November 2022.

For those unaware, Drishyam is a remake of the Malayalam crime thriller (2013) of the same name, written and directed by Jeethu Joseph. The film has Mohanal, Meena, Asha Sharath, Ansiba Haasan, Esther Anil, Kalabhavan Shajon, Siddique, Roshan Basheer and Neeraj Madhav as part of the star cast. The film was later remade into Tamil as Papanasam (2015), and starred Kamal Haasan and Gauthami in the lead, with Asha Sharath reprising her character. Drishyam 2, which featured the same star cast, released last year, and was the sequel to the story.
