It's Dream Girl 2 week, and the film marks the first theatrical release of Ayushmann Khurrana this year. The film is the spiritual sequel to the hit 2019 film, which featured the actor playing the titular role of Pooja, where he makes a female voice and grabs the attention of men. Now, in the second instalment, the actor goes further and dresses up as a woman, and the film is filled with many errors.
Ektaa R. Kapoor and Shobha Kapoor produced the comedy-drama film Dream Girl 2 under the auspices of Balaji Motion Pictures, and Raaj Shaandilya is the man behind the camera.
Ayushmann Khurrana, Ananya Panday, Paresh Rawal, Annu Kapoor, Rajpal Yadav, Vijay Raaz, Asrani, Abhishek Banerjee, Manjot Singh, and Seema Pahwa are among the ensemble cast of Dream Girl 2.
Karam (Ayushmann Khurrana), a young man from a village in Mathura, is having trouble coming up with the money to pay off the debt that his father racked up by borrowing money from almost everyone on earth. On the other side, he is head over heels in love with Pari (Ananya Panday), whose father has a few requirements that must be met before they can get married. Karam impersonates Pooja in order to sustain his family financially, which results in anarchy and a comedy of mishaps.
After a long wait and a slight delay, Dream Girl 2 is set to hit the big screen on August 25, 2023.
Dream Girl 2's runtime is about two hours and 13 minutes.
The advance booking for Dream Girl 2 kicked off over the weekend, and as per reports in Sacnilk, the film raked in about Rs. 27 lakhs on Monday and sold about 8477 tickets.
This is the first time Ayushmann Khurrana and Ananya Panday will be romancing each other on the big screen.
