Dragon, the 2025 Tamil film featuring Pradeep Ranganathan in the lead role, is nearing the Rs 100-crore collection within the domestic box office, even as the film has crossed it at the worldwide level. Written and directed by Ashwath Marimuthu and produced by AGS Entertainment, Dragon has completed two weeks of run at the box office and collected Rs 84.45 crore at the Indian box office so far.
We have already reported that Dragon has zoomed past to become one of the highest-grossing Tamil films this year so far. The film, which has been in contention with Ajith Kumar’s Vidaamuyarchi, is just a few crores away from becoming the highest-grossing Tamil cinema of 2025 till now. The film has already entered the 100-crore club with its worldwide earnings, and has collected Rs 84 crore at the Indian box office, as per Sacnilk report.
Dragon opened to tremendously positive reviews upon its release, and went on to beat Pradeep’s earlier film Love Today, which he directed and starred in. Both Dragon and Love Today are bankrolled by AGS Entertainment.
The post-theatrical streaming rights of Dragon have been bagged by Netflix, with an official streaming date yet to be announced. Pradeep Ranganathan and Ashwath Marimuthu are long-time friends, who collaborated for the first time for Dragon. The film released in Telugu as Return of the Dragon.
The drama film revolves around a college student with 48 arrears, now leading a good life with a high salary and about to get married. However, a particular circumstance forces him to return to college to clear the backlogs. The catch is, however, he has to do it without the knowledge of his lover, boss, and family members. It also stars Anupama Parameswaran, Kayadu Lohar, Myskin, Gautham Menon, George Mariyan, VJ Siddhu, Harshath Khan and others.
Leon James has scored the music, with cinematography by Niketh Bommireddy. Pradeep E. Ragav is the editor of the film.
