Dono trailer: Check out Rajveer Deol and Paloma Thakeria’s romantic saga

After the blockbuster success of Sunny Deol’s Gadar 2, his son Rajveer Deol is set to make his acting debut with Dono. The Avnish S Barjatya film will hit the theatres on October 5, also marking the debut of Poonam Dhillon’s daughter, Paloma Thakeria. Produced by Rajshri Productions and JioCinema, the makers recently launched the trailer of the film in Mumbai, with Rajveer and Paloma’s parents also present at the event.

Dono also marks Sooraj Barjatya’s son Avnish’s directorial debut. The movie is described as a fun and romantic tale of two people, who fall in love in an unexpected situation. Dev (Rajveer) is invited to his best friend Alina’s (Kanikaa Kapur) wedding, where he meets the groom’s best friend Meghna (Paloma), not knowing what the future holds for them.

Set in a beautiful landscape, the film is a modern take on the typical boy-meets-girl love story. The trailer shows Dev as a 20-something individual who attends his best friend’s wedding, with whom was in love for the past 10 years. Meghna has just come out of a six-year-long relationship with her boyfriend Gaurav, who is also attending the wedding. In hope of healing their heartbreak, the two find solace in each other. The storyline focusses on their journey of falling in love and all the twists and turns that they face in the process.

Netizens have praised the trailer with comments like, “I am so happy for the Barjatyas, especially Avnish, and both the newcomers! Super duper excited for this movie... just open the bookings already!” Another user wrote, “Rajshri is an emotion in itself.. can't express in words how happy I am to see the new generation beginning their journey under this banner! Dono is co-written by Avnish and Manu Sharma, while the music is composed by Shankar Mahadevan, Ehsaan Noorani and Loy Mendonsa. Before making his acting debut, Karan worked as an assistant director and trained under director Feroz Abbas Khan.

The news of Rajveer making his acting debut with Avnish was announced by his grandfather, legendary actor Dharmendra, on social media with the caption, “Introducing my grandson #RajveerDeol to the world of cinema along with Avnish Barjatya’s directorial debut. I humbly request you all to shower the same love and affection on both the kids as you have on me. Good luck and Godbless”.

Sunny’s elder son, Karan made his acting debut with father’s directorial venture, Pal Pal Dil Ke Paas in 2019. He made headlines earlier this year when he tied the knot with his longtime girlfriend Drisha Acharya.
