Don 3: Was Ranveer Singh replacing Shah Rukh Khan a smart move? Internet reacts

Indians woke up to a surprise on the morning of August 08, 2023. They realized that Ranveer Singh has officially replaced Shah Rukh Khan in the Don franchise. Ranveer is a part of Farhan Akhtar’s Don 3.

On hearing the news, the internet has been divided. While the initial reactions were against Ranveer being a part of the franchise, soon, some netizens came in his support too.

Many blamed director Farhan Akhtar for picking Ranveer after SRK. Shah Rukh Khan had reportedly refused to star in the movie. Thus, netizens questioned why the filmmaker did not approach Hrithik Roshan.

One of the comments compared Ranveer-SRK to a scene from Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai. It is the scene where Ajay Devgn (here, tagged as SRK) slaps Emraan Hashmi (here, Ranveer).

Another thought it was an advertisement featuring Ranveer, more than a movie. Ranveer’s fashion was also brought to limelight, as someone joked that this Don would be caught instantly thanks to his unique fashion.

The announcement in the series came after 12 years. Farhan, too, returned to direction. He announced the same through Jee Le Zaraa two years back. The film will feature Alia Bhatt, Katrina Kaif and Priyanka Chopra Jonas in the lead roles.
