Ever since the announcement of the movie Don 3 was made, fans have been excited about every detail of the film. Starring Ranveer Singh and Kiara Advani in lead roles, the action-packed film is directed by Farhan Akhtar. Earlier, reports had stated that the film would go on floors in August this year. However, a few months back, Farhan stated that filming would begin in January 2025. But seems like Ranveer and Kiara's fans have to wait a little longer as the shooting of the film has now been postponed to May 2025.

News18 has reported that Don 3 shooting has been postponed to May 2025 and the reason for the same is Farhan Akhtar's upcoming project. On August 4, he took to Instagram and announced that he would be seen playing the role of Major Shaitan Singh PVC in a film titled 120 Bahadur and also said that its shoot had begun.
A source informed the portal that Farhan wants to stick to the commitment that he made to the makers of 120 Bahadur before kick-starting his own directorial. "Since the shoot of the former will take a few months, he has decided to push the first schedule of Don 3 by four months. It will now begin in May-June next year. Moreover, Ranveer is currently focused on Aditya Dhar’s next untitled directorial," the source added.
Farhan Akhtar on choosing Ranveer Singh to play lead in Don 3
During an appearance on the podcast by YouTuber Raj Shamani, Farhan Akhtar was asked about choosing Ranveer Singh for Don 3 and why he hadn't thought of a trilogy with Shah Rukh Khan.
The actor-filmmaker shared that the script of Don 3 required a "next-generation actor" like Ranveer Singh. He praised the Dil Dhadakne Do actor and called him "charming," "mischievous," and energetic guy.
Talking about Don 3, Farhan shared, "Don requires a very different performance from him. There is a certain holding inside him that is needed, which I don't think he has done. So I think it is a nice challenge for him to be able to do it."
