Doctor Who fans were in for a delicious surprise when the panel at Comic Con@ Home dropped a teaser of season 13 of the series.
The teaser gives a look at Jodie Whittaker, who will be reprising her role as The Doctor along with Mandip Gill as Yasmin Khan. The video also revealed the new companion, British comedian John Bishop as Dan, who replaces both Tosin Cole and Bradley Walsh as Ryan and Graham O’Brien, respectively.
Audiences also get a glimpse of Game of Thrones star Jacob Anderson, who will be guest-starring in the role of Vinder. Anderson has previously worked with Whittaker and showrunner Chris Chibnall on Broadchurch.
Take a look at the trailer below.
Chibnall has admitted that the new season will be the most ambitious ever since their stint began. “We’re going to go to all kinds of different places, we’re going to have all kinds of characters and monsters, and it’s all going to be part of a bigger whole,” the showrunner said.
Doctor Who has been running for nearly 60 years and has garnered a loyal audience. The latest season has been touted as 'The Doctor’s biggest adventure yet'. Due to COVID-19 pandemic, the production of the series has been delayed. But Chibnall said, “The Doctor never shirks from a challenge!”
The Doctor will be seen travelling with her companions in the TARDIS later this year. Meanwhile, stream season one to 12 on Amazon Prime Video.
