Everyone's favourite time-travelling adventure show, Doctor Who, is back for another exciting season! This time, Ncuti Gatwa is the Doctor, and he has got plenty of action and surprises in store for you. On Christmas Day, BBC finally gave us a sneak-peek at the new season with a teaser trailer. It shows off some cool sci-fi stuff and some fun scenes with the Doctor.
Following his breakout performance as Eric Effiong in Sex Education, Ncuti Gatwa embarks on a new journey as the lead in Doctor Who. This exciting project promises to showcase his talent and versatility in a fresh and captivating role.
Doctor Who star-cast
Millie Gibson has joined Ncuti Gatwa as Ruby Sunday, and the duo will time-travel through space and time in the TARDIS. They will meet all sorts of weird and wonderful creatures along the way, like new monsters and strange friends. Some familiar faces will be back too, like Yasmin Finney and Bonnie Lanford will be reprising their roles as Rose Noble and Mel Bush. The Doctor will meet some brand new people, like Jinkx Monsoon, who will be their toughest enemy yet! Jonathan Groff will also have a special part in the story, along with Indira Varma, Lenny Rush, and many more. Get ready for an epic adventure.
Doctor Who Season 1 teaser
The Season 1 teaser shows two travellers, who can jump through time to go to London in the ‘60s, dressed like people back then. They see a small band from Liverpool recording a song. The Doctor then tells his friend Ruby that there are forces more powerful than anything in the universe. Ruby asks him if he is scared because he is not making sense anymore.
About the first Doctor Who series
The BBC sci-fi Doctor Who series was released in 1963, which had twenty-six episodes. The series depicts the adventures of a Time Lord called the Doctor, an extraterrestrial being who appears to be human. The Doctor zooms through space and time in a special ship called the TARDIS, that looks like a cool old police box. Zipping around, the Doctor helps people in trouble and fights baddies who bully anyone weaker. Often, the Doctor is not alone, but has friends joining the adventures.
