Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is the next movie MCU fans are eagerly waiting for. The latest news about the second Doctor Strange movie is that it has wrapped additional photography.
It was reported in November 2021 that the movie is undergoing severe reshoots and Benedict Cumberbatch had said that part of the reason for this was logistical, for some footage was not shot due to COVID-19.
Cumberbatch, in a conversation with Deadline, confirmed that Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness has officially wrapped on additional photography on Saturday, January 8, 2022.
Rumours claimed that the reason for the reshoots was to add more superheroes and cameos into the movie, with the return of some characters from Marvel movies before the MCU days.
Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness will continue from where WandaVision, Loki and Spider-Man: No Way Home left off, and will see Doctor Strange team up with Scarlet Witch, Won, and newcomer America Chavez.
The movie is helmed by Sam Raimi, who directed the Spider-Man movies starring Tobey Maguire. Apart from Cumberbatch, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness also features Benedict Wong, Rachel McAdams, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Elizabeth Olsen, and Xochitl Gomez.
An official teaser for the movie was screened as an end credit scene for Spider-Man: No Way Home, and reveals Doctor Strange teaming up with Scarlet Witch as the two have to traverse the multiverse, as they come across another version of Doctor Strange.
The 28th MCU movie, which comes as part of Phase Four, is set to release on May 6 2022.
