Doctor Strange In The Multiverse Of Madness on Disney+ Hotstar: Benedict Cumberbatch talks about playing different versions of Doctor Strange

Marvel Studios has brought the most fantastic return of the Marvel Cinematic Universe's (MCU) excellent doctor in Doctor Strange In The Multiverse Of Madness, exclusively on Disney+ Hotstar, by pushing its boundaries in ways that were never imagined before. The movie is a follow-up to 2016's Doctor Strange, which featured Benedict Cumberbatch as Stephen Strange, alias Doctor Strange. It is directed by Sam Raimi.

In the movie, Cumberbatch meets America Chavez (Xochitl Gómez), a special teenager who has the ability to open doors from one universe to another, and the new adventure of Doctor Strange starts. The subsequent event is a crazy, mind-blowing adventure that brings Doctor Strange and his associates on a perilous voyage to alternative realities in the Multiverse.

Doctor Stephen Strange, the most powerful sorcerer on Earth, is coming to terms with his isolation in the Multiverse following the events of Avengers: Infinity War, Avengers: Endgame, and Spider-Man: No Way Home. Benedict Cumberbatch, who is reprising his role as Doctor Strange, said that the beginning of the movie finds his character in a safe, all-knowing, nearly omnipotent location.

Doctor Strange, however, comes to see how much of a pattern of behaviour he bears as a result of his experiences in the Multiverse and the different incarnations of him there. The actor Benedict Cumberbatch described it as kind of an imprint, an identification of who Doctor Stephen Strange is in any reality and what the hazards of that role are.

Is he going to be his enemy's hero or his hero's enemy? Who is the multiverse's Doctor Strange? Because of America Chavez's incredible ability to portal through the multiverse, he is really running into duplicates of himself while trying to figure things out and keep her alive.

Although Cumberbatch said it was exhilarating to play many Doctor Strange characters, he also acknowledged that it was difficult. The actor added that they meet Sinister Strange, as they called him, in a pivotal scene at the end, and he literally has one scene with another version of himself. Cumberbatch called it difficult and challenging. He shared that it's a pretty strange day at work. Working with a stunt double or someone else's stand-in, even though they use them as a kind of landmark for where they are and where one is, they still have to recall their performance. It's pretty strange, but it's something they have managed to perfect and get right via the post and everything else; it's entertaining.

The ensemble cast of Doctor Strange In The Multiverse Of Madness also includes Elizabeth Olsen, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Benedict Wong, Sheila Atim, Adam Hugill, Michael Stühlbarg, and Rachel McAdams, in addition to Benedict Cumberbatch and Xochitl Gomez.
