Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is arguably one of the most-highly anticipated Marvel films of the year. The movie promises to explore a darker, frightening side of the multiverse. A new featurette from the upcoming film was released recently that gives a glimpse into the ‘mind-bending’ side of the multiverse that its plot delves into.
The video features Marvel Studios president and the upcoming film’s producer Kevin Feige, director Sam Raimi and its lead stars Benedict Cumberbatch and Elizabeth Olsen. Raimi talked about how he had been a fan of the first Doctor Strange film (2016), finding it “intelligent and interesting”. So when he received the offer to direct the sequel, he thought it would make a fascinating challenge for him as a filmmaker.
Olsen and Cumberbatch too had nothing but good things to say of the director. Calling the filmmaker, who had previously helmed the Evil Dead and Tobey Maguire’s Spider-man movies, an expert at crafting “terrorising cinema” experiences, Olsen teased that in the upcoming film, the director tried to create “as much tension as possible” for audiences.
Feige also talked about how Marvel wanted to explore the more frightening and “mind-bending” aspects of the multiverse through the film. The featurette also includes several visually-stunning scenes from the movie.

In addition to Cumberbatch and Olsen, the film also stars Benedict Wong, Xochitl Gomez, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Michael Stuhlbarg and Rachel McAdams in pivotal roles. Except for Gomez, the rest of the cast will be reprising their roles from the previous MCU film.
The movie will see Dr Stephen Strange travel into the multiverse to face a new threat. The events in the film take place in the aftermath of the events in Spider-Man: No Way Home (2021). Michael Waldron has written its script.
Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness will be released in theatres on May 6, in English, Hindi, Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu and Kannada.
