Doctor G Box Office Collection day 1: Ayushmann Khurrana’s film fares better than Chandigarh Kare Aashiqui on opening day

Ayushmann Khurrana’s latest film Doctor G has fared well at the Box Office on the opening day itself. The movie has done better than Chandigarh Kare Aashiqui on day one. Doctor G has received mixed reviews but the film seems to have struck a chord among the viewers.

Doctor G earned Rs. 3.50 crores on day one, according to a report on Box Office India. The movie obviously performed better than Ayushmann’s Anek but more than that, it has also earned 15-20% more than Chandigarh Kare Aashiqui.

The film began at an average number but the Friday evening shows changed the game. Doctor G managed to earn Rs. 3 crores through the evening shows alone.

Of course, Rs. 3.50 crores is not a huge number for a Box Office collection but given the current circumstances and how almost no film is working at the Box Office, this movie did a better-than-average number at the BO. This is especially because a film like Doctor G finds it tough to pull the audiences to theatres in a generic case. However, Ayushmann’s film did work at the Box Office and is expected to earn even more as the days pass.

Doctor G has also released at a time when the movies have an eight-week window at the Box Office. Although that might not amount to much, it definitely will boost some Box Office collection for movies.

While in other cases, it could have been said that Doctor G might have brought in the Box Office numbers because of advance bookings but that does not hold true. The movie worked better in the evenings, which proves that it has resonated with the people.

It is tougher than ever to bring Box Office numbers over the weekends, post the pandemic era. However, Doctor G might just be able to make it through and be declared a hit, if not a superhit.
