Divyenndu, who has won fans' hearts with his Munna Bhaiya role in the Mirzapur series, will be seen as a cop in Farhan Akhtar's upcoming film, Agni. The film will showcase the life of firefighters. The trailer of Agni was released today, November 21, and at the launch event, the actor answered how was it playing Munna in Mirzapur and a cop in Agni.
Reacting to his Mirzapur's Munna Bhaiya and Agni's Samit characters, Divyenndu said that the two characters belong to completely different worlds.
He shared, "When we talk about Munna, there's a completely different world but doing Agni was also like I really liked it as an artist but it was also a responsibility that whatever we are doing we have to do it with all our heart, and just do it right."
Sharing more details about Agni, Divyenndu said that it is one of those films where thoroughly enjoyed his character but to be a part of that world was even more important for him. "I just wanted to be part of this film to represent what firefighters go through although I represent the police that's the whole banker of the film," he concluded.
In Agni, Vithal (Pratik Gandhi) and his brother-in-law, Samit (Divyenndu), a police officer join the forces to investigate the mystery behind the fires in the city. The trailer of Agni depicts the life of firefighters who risk their lives to save others. The story of two families - one a firefighter and the other a police inspector is explored. Amidst the flames, the film beautifully depicts the emotional journey of Vithal from the world around him and from within his own family to his fight for honor.
He played the role of Munna Tripathi in the Mirzapur series. In the second season, his character died. However, the teaser of the fourth season showed the return of his character. In the promotional video, Divyenndu aka Munna Tripathi confirmed his comeback in the Mirzapur world and said that he is 'immortal'. Abhishek Banerjee is also seen in this clip.
While sharing this video, Amazon Prime Video mentioned, "Diwali pe sabko mithai milti hai, lekin yeh lo, Mirzapur ki asli barfi MirzapurTheFilm, coming soon (sic)."
