Popular OTT platform Disney+Hotstar released the exciting teaser of its upcoming series Dil Bekarar, which seems to take audiences on an enchanting journey through the 80s. The light-hearted drama is based on Anuja Chauhan’s best-selling novel Those Pricey Thakur Girls.
The series is set in colonial Delhi, which struggles to shed the past and dreams of a liberalised future. Revolving around the day-to-day life of the Thakur family, it portrays their battles of ideological differences, and much more. The 53-second video appears to be dazzling and all colourful with the characters dealing with different situations at a fast forward pace. It is to be noted that the story takes place during the times when telegraphs and telephones existed and when people hummed to the tunes of R D Burman, Nazia Hassan and Hum Log.
The show stars Raj Babbar, Poonam Dhillon, Sahher Bambba and Akshay Oberoi in vital roles, and is helmed by Habib Faisal. There is no doubt that the jovial family drama is going to bring a refreshing experience to the audiences, who can sit back on their couch and enjoy it.
Talking about the series, the director Habib Faisal said that they aim to transport the 2020 audiences straight to the 1980s. In the press statement, he further said the plan is to not only bring the charm, grace and simplicity of the bygone era but also to have a better understanding of our past society in the present times. He also hailed it as a ‘one-of-a-kind’ concept and expressed his excitement to bring out the same through Disney+Hotstar.
