Director Vignesh Karthick announces his next, Hot Spot, with Kalaiarasan, Ammu Abhirami, Janani, Aadhitya Baaskar and others

Actor Aishwarya Rajesh released the title and first-look poster of the upcoming Tamil film titled Hot Spot. The film is directed by Vignesh Karthick, who made the 2021 thriller drama Thittam Irandu starring the actor. The film is produced by KJ Balamanimarbhan, Suresh Kumar and Gokul Benoy.

Hot Spot stars a young crop of actors, including Kalaiarasan, Ammu Abhirami, Janani, Aadhitya Baaskar, and Sandy, among others. The first-look poster is taken from the top angle of the lead cast, who are lying in a circle. While a couple seems to be engrossed in a phone, some look straight into the camera. The film is set to release in theatres in March. However, the makers have yet to announce the release date of Hot Spot.

The technical crew consists of Gokul Benoy handling cinematography with music scored by Satish Raghunathan and Vaan. Muthayan U is the editor. KJ Balamani Marban and Suresh Kumar are producing the film under the banner of KJB Talkies and 7 Warrior Films. Dinesh Kannan is presenting this film under his banner Sixer Entertainment.

Director Vignesh Karthick, who helmed Aishwarya Rajesh-starrer Thittam Irandu and GV Prakash Kumar-starrer Adiye, has written and directed the film, besides handling the screenplay and dialogue. Kalaiyarasan plays the protagonist, an auto driver. 96 and Adiye heroine Gouri Kishan plays a young wife. Her character will instill a sense of guilt in men's minds, according to the makers.

Speaking about the film, Vignesh Karthik said in a statement, “We don't have the courage to probe into some of the basic things that happen before our eyes on a daily basis in society, and we ignore it. But it has a big impact on society. It is only when the consequences affect us that we think about whether such an incident happened. Hot Spot is a story that analyses such important things. There is no doubt that the film will create deliberations and discussions in society after its release. Because it is a story about people and the politics around them. The film will bring awareness and courage to knock the minds and ask questions to the young and old.”

The shooting of the film has been completed in Chennai.
