We had earlier reported that the upcoming Tamil film Yezhu Kadal Yezhu Malai will have its premiere at the International Film Festival of Rotterdam. While the premiere took place a few days ago, the film was met with a positive reception and received a standing ovation.
The makers recently released a BTS from the premiere, with the feedback the film received at the festival run.

What feedback did Yezhu Kadal Yezhu Malai get?
The video shows the cast and crew on the stage at the festival, with the audience giving a standing ovation for the film and congratulating the film. Backed by V House Productions and led by producer Suresh Kamatchi, the film is directed by one of the most acclaimed filmmakers, Ram, and stars Nivin Pauly, Anjali, and Soori.
The film, which has garnered fervent admiration from audiences and critics alike at the recently concluded International Film Festival Rotterdam, was selected for the Big Screen Competition category. It had three screenings open to the public, held at Pathé Cinemas in Rotterdam.
Yezhu Kadal Yezhu Malai received thunderous applause, with the audience appreciating the film for its mysticism, action, humour and romance. One viewer said, “It was hilarious,” and another said that it was “poetic”.
“We haven’t seen this kind of story in a film in Tamil cinema,” said one Tamil-speaking audience member, while the other said, “Love, action, emotions, compassion, it had everything.” “For me, it is really about soul, incarnation, and love for all living things,” said one person.
Everything we know about Yezhu Kadal Yezhu Malai
Yezhu Kadal Yezhu Malai will mark the first time Ram is working with Nivin Pauly and Soori. With the music composed by Yuvan Shankar Raja, the makers had released a glimpse of the film earlier. It revealed Nivin to be playing an 8,000-year-old man, hinting that the film will touch upon rebirth and span across generations. It is to be noted that in Yezhu Kadal Yezhu Malai, Soori plays a leading character instead and has not been roped in for comic relief, which is usually the case. A release date for the film is yet to be announced, but it is expected to release sometime in summer 2024.
