Prasanth Varma is pulling all the stops to ensure that his vision isn't compromised at any level for his upcoming magnum opus Hanu-Man. A pan-Indian superhero film starring Teja Sajja in the lead, Hanu-Man is a reimagination of the popular mythological character Hanuman from Ramayana in a new, intriguing backdrop. Amritha Aiyer is cast as his on-screen love interest in the film while Varalaxmi Sarathkumar too plays a key role in the larger-than-life action spectacle.
The sets of Hanu-Man had a celebrity guest yesterday in the form of director Krishna Vamsi. The makers of the film shared an image where Prasanth Varma and Krishna Vamsi are all smiles in the middle of an engrossing conversation. Well, if we were to guess what they were talking about, it could well be the interpretation of Hanuman's character. Why do we say that? For the uninitiated, the maverick filmmaker too made a fictitious socio-fantasy, Sri Anjaneyam, based on Hanuman, that starred Nithiin, Charmme Kaur, Arjun Sarja in key roles.
In Krishna Vamsi's Sri Anjaneyam, the pivotal character, played by Nithiin, is a staunch devotee of Lord Hanuman (Arjun Sarja) and receives help from the latter in the hour of crisis. The film had several interesting ideas and engaging episodes though it couldn't engage audiences fully. It's certain that Krishna Vamsi would've been reminded of his Sri Anjaneyam days and shared his inputs about the character with Prasanth Varma.
Teja Sajja had begun dubbing for Hanu-Man recently and the film's shoot has been going on for a little more than 100 days. Produced by K Niranjan Reddy under Primeshow Entertainment, Chaitanya is presenting the film while Asrin Reddy is the executive producer. Cinematographed by Dasaradhi Shivendra, Hanu-Man also has four composers - Anudeep Dev, Hari Gowra, Jay Krish and Krishna Saurabh. Srinagendra Tangala is the production designer and Lanka Santhoshi is the costume designer respectively. Prasanth Varma's next is Adhira, marking Kalyan Dasari's debut.
