There’s renewed excitement among film enthusiasts as director Anil Ravipudi, Nandamuri Balakrishna are joining hands for Bhagavanth Kesari. Sreeleela, Kajal Aggarwal, Arjun Rampal, Sarath Kumar and others play crucial roles too in the action entertainer produced by Sahu Garapati and Harish Peddi under Shine Screens. The film, which has music by S Thaman, releases globally on October 19.
Ahead of the film’s release, Sreeleela and Anil Ravipudi were part of a special promotional interview with Village Show. On naming the film ‘Bhagavanth Kesari’, he said, “We really wanted the title to be powerful. With Balakrishna’s image, we needed something strong and is a force to reckon with.” You’ll also know the reason behind the emblem in the poster post the release, Anil said.
The filmmaker said that the dialogues will be powerful, referring to the ‘sappudu seyak’ phrase and the popular kaan bhairi one-liner in the trailer. “We knew there would be curiosity when I direct Balakrishna. There are no hero or heroines in the film; it’s a character driven story. For the first time in his career, Balakrishna has explored the Telangana slang.”
Praising Sreeleela, Ravipudi mentioned, “While audiences have enjoyed Sreeleela’s dances in the films, they’ll discover the performer in her with Bhagavanth Kesari. She has come up with a fine performance.” Sreeleela too added, “ I was very emotional during dubbing and came back feeling heavy. I loved working with Balakrishna, Kajal and Arjun Rampal.”
Ravipudi called Balakrishna a ‘stubborn’ man (mondodu) both on and off screen. Sreeleela added, “Yet he treats everyone equally well on sets, patiently waits for his shots, brings dry fruits for everyone on set (I had a good dose too).” Kajal Aggarwal has an equally meaty role and plays a psychologist, the filmmaker mentioned. Amazon Prime Video has acquired the film’s OTT rights.
