Dilruba postponed: Kiran Abbavaram's romantic drama locks a new release date

Dilruba is Kiran Abbavaram's new film, which was all set to hit the screens on February 14, 2025, as a Valentine's Day special. However, due to a lack of promotions, many doubted whether the film would release on the said date. The latest update is that Dilruba has been postponed and will not be out on February 14, 2025. Instead, the makers have locked March 14, 2025, as the new release date, making it a summer special.

Kiran Abbavaram's Dilruba gets postponed

Directed by Viswa Karun, the film is a romantic drama featuring Ruksar Dhillon as the female lead. The promos gained traction, and there was a decent buzz around the film, especially since Kiran Abbavaram's last outing, KA, was a smash hit at the box office.

Naturally, Dilruba carried a good amount of hype as well. However, the reasons behind the postponement remain unknown. Reports suggest that the makers did not have enough time for promotions and also wanted to avoid competition with other films like Laila and Brahma Anandam, both set to release on February 14, 2025.

Kiran Abbavaram plays a cool and stylish character in Dilruba and shares crackling chemistry with Ruksar Dhillon. For Ruksar, Dilruba was a crucial film to regain momentum in her career, but unfortunately, the postponement has put a slight dent in those plans.

Produced by Saregama and Sivam Celluloids, the film features music and background score by Sam CS, who is currently riding high on the success of Pushpa 2. With each film, Kiran Abbavaram is experimenting with new themes, and in Dilruba, he highlights the toxic behavior of a man in love, which is said to be one of the film's key elements.
