The anticipation is building up for Diljit Dosanjh and Parineeti Chopra-starrer Amar Singh Chamkila. Based on the real-life of Punjabi singer Amar Singh Chamkila, the film is helmed by ace director Imtiaz Ali. Adding to the buzz, Diljit shared a clip from the sets where he is singing Chamkila’s song.
Release date
The film will be available on Netflix from April 12, 2024. Sharing a clip of himself portraying the character of Chamkila on the sets, Diljit captioned the post with, “AMAR SINGH CHAMKILA Releasing on April 12, Only on @netflix_in.”

Diljit and Parineeti’s first on-screen collaboration
Amar Singh Chamkila stars Diljit Dosanjh in the titular role, while actress Parineeti Chopra plays the role of his wife, Amarjot Kaur. The film aims to unfold the events leading up to the assassination of Chamkila, his wife, along with other members of his musical group. This is the first on-screen collaboration of Diljit and Parineeti.
A few months ago, Parineeti wished Diljit on his birthday with a BTS picture from the movie. In the poster, Diljit's character is seen sporting short hair and wearing an off-white traditional attire. Diljit, happily smiling, is also seen holding a musical instrument. Parineeti, on the other hand, can be seen wearing a black-and-white kurta with a black sweater. Sharing this picture she wrote, “Mera yaara, mera pyaara, mera CHAMKILA! Happpy bday ji...Wish you happiness and good health forever. I miss us singing together! And I cannot wait to show the world what we have created in #Chamkila. The MUSIC, the magic.”
